Program Staff

Program Manager: Rachel Blanton, LMSW
Rachel moved to Albuquerque after earning her Masters in Social Work, as well as a Certificate in Social Justice & Peacemaking, from Saint Louis University in May 2012.  She has case management and program development experience working with homeless women and “at-risk” high school students.  After living and working at Dismas’ Women’s House, Rachel welcomed the opportunity to become a permanent member of the Dismas Family.  Rachel shares, “The residents, staff, and volunteers have been so welcoming.  I’m grateful to be working at an agency whose mission and philosophy are completely in line with my own.”

Community Support Worker: Cynthia Gerardo, BSW
Cynthia currently holds a B.S. in Social Work from New Mexico Highlands University. She has been with Dismas since September 2011. Cynthia has volunteered as a CASA at the homeless shelter, MDC (Gods Pods) and food pantry for more than three years. Cynthia raves, “I love my job! I would say that my favorite part of my job is having the opportunity to witness the growth in our residents. I feel blessed to be able to be there for our residents, through the good and the hard times. We all have a story, some of us have deeper scars than others, nevertheless, we all deserve another chance”.

Community Support Worker: Claudia Timmons, MA, CFAE
Claudia has worked professionally with the forensic population since 1997.  In 2003-2004, she facilitated process groups at both our men’s and women’s programs.  She found out then how valuable this program is, and has always wanted to work here again.  Claudia explains, “I love working with those from prison, and understand what their barriers and frustrations are.  I’m glad to have this opportunity to give back.”

Facilities Manager:  James Larson
James is a graduate of Dismas House, and has been a part of the Dismas Family for over 8 years.   James keeps our houses, offices, and grounds in great shape, while encouraging residents to take advantage of the opportunity and support that Dismas offers to build a better life.
