History & Overview

Dismas House New Mexico was created in 1994 in response to the growing need for supportive services for people struggling to re-enter society after spending time in prison/jail.  Since then, Dismas House has developed an effective, evidence-based residential program that provides a comprehensive matrix of services for returning citizens.

Dismas House New Mexico currently owns a three-acre campus, which contains our offices and our Men’s Program. Currently, our program provides 90 days of service-enriched housing and programming for 17 male and 6 female residents.  We serve 85+ residents annually at Dismas House.

In March 2013, Dismas House New Mexico proudly became a program of St. Martin’s Hospitality Center. Together, will continue to provide excellent services to our residents. With St. Martin’s, Dismas House hopes to bridge service and treatment gaps by creating more direct access to all St. Martin’s has to offer, such as medication management, intensive therapy, mental health recovery groups, employment training, job placement assistance, and additional advocacy.
